Dan Johnson started Greenman Dan, Inc., in 2007 with a passion for solving drainage problems. During the rebuilding of his home after Hurricane Katrina, he experienced first-hand what fear and anxiety felt like when his home was on the verge of being flooded each time it rained. After protecting his home with french drains and watching their performance during the next big rain storm, he found his anxiety was no longer there and instead felt his home was safe and secure. Dan’s goal is to help others build their properties using green infrastructure (green infrastructure is a fancy term for building an outdoor environment to handle rain water as it would in nature; hold back, absorb, filter) so they are more protected and prepared to manage rain water and improve the drainage in their yard and neighborhood.
Today, we have completed more than 1000 green infrastructure projects creating beautiful, functional landscapes in the Greater New Orleans area. Our ultimate goal is to help manage the stormwater runoff generated by our region’s intense rain events. This concept has garnered us national attention, and we have been featured in CNN Money and Fast Company. Call us to discuss your (many budget-friendly) green infrastructure options.
